From Marrakech, Rabat, and Casablanca to Milan, Studio KO's first collection designed for Beni is bound by themes of time and record-keeping, transposing artifacts of industrial society into meticulously handcrafted Moroccan rugs. With this release, two new weaving typologies enter Beni's oeuvre: hand-embroidery and Rabat.

Redacted documents, time diaries, faded gestures in ink. Every act of ephemeral recollection turns eternal when pen is put to paper and when wool is woven into rugs.
An ode to memory, the 10 motifs of this collection study the fine print of how we write, preserve, and share our lives.
AN EVOLVED REVIVAL
Rabat, our most complex rug construction yet, is our evolved revival of the R’bati carpet, a hyper-fine point knotted style with roots that date back to Morocco’s palatial interiors of the early 19th century.
HAND-EMBROIDERY
A masterclass in craft, the arduous technique of hand-embroidery is one that requires a haute-degree of unwavering skill.
This collaboration considers rugs as cultural recordings, or artifacts of a specific time and place, in the same way that spreadsheets or a weathered journal entry might convey meaning and cultural context within each individual page.

PAST LIVES
Intersection was photographed by Romain Laprade and filmed by Iván Varela Suárez at the Vincent Timsit Workshop in Casablanca, one of architect Jean-François Zevaco’s most celebrated works built in 1952.
All ten rugs of the collection were designed in partnership with Paris and Marrakech-based architecture firm Studio KO, transposing the everyday relics of industrial society into Moroccan heirlooms.
Since meeting at the Beaux Arts school of Architecture in Paris and the subsequent creation of their studio in 2000, Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty have applied their elementary assertion to every scale of their projects. Rooted in classical training, the duo asserts a global and immersive approach to their profession, from architecture to interior design and furniture design. At the heart of their approach is a freedom without compromise and the need to create a unique narrative, the most in tune with the truth of the context.
