The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Sales Manager in New York City who values the way we see things and understands the difference our studio hopes to make in this industry where the past is woven into the present.

As our Sales Manager, you would be the front door of our home office, introducing Beni to like-minds in both the trade and direct-to-consumer spaces. You would be the author of our story, building relationships, driving sales, and echoing the company’s pillars of comfort, quality, and consideration. Connecting the dots between our world and the role it could play in someone else's should get your wheels turning. Going beyond customer “service,” we want our clients to feel seen, understood and cared for.

What You'll Do

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of expanding our reach within the design community, working closely with trade clients like interior designers, architects, and contractors, while also ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our DTC customers. You’ll be responsible for not only growing our trade sales program but also for creating a loyal customer base that continues to choose Beni for their projects. To conduct this role with equal parts joy and tact, you should be excited by design and sales.

  • Trade sales expansion: you will work to drive the growth of our trade sales program by identifying and onboarding new trade clients. You'll build and nurture relationships with key creatives in the industry, including interior designers, architects, and contract partners, ensuring they have a warm and efficient experience from their first step with us to the last.
  • Customer experience: you will collaborate with our customer service and production teams to provide considered support during the sales lifecycle, aiming to create a wrench-less experience that encourages repeat business and brand loyalty.
  • Business development: you will identify and pursue new opportunities within both the trade and DTC channels, ensuring we continue to expand our reach and influence in the market with authenticity and humanity.
  • Brand advocacy: you will represent us at trade shows, events, and activations, becoming a key advocate for the Beni world. You'll work closely with our marketing team and founders to create targeted campaigns that resonate with both trade and DTC audiences.
  • Strategic insights: with an eye on the future, you will analyze sales data and market trends to inform our sales strategies, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and continue to meet our ambitious growth targets. Presence and proactivity are key.
  • Showroom engagement: you will be the face of our showroom, welcoming and engaging with both trade clients and retail consumers, ensuring each visit is memorable and reflective of Beni’s way of seeing.

Who You Are

  • You have an earnest appreciation for interior design and a keen understanding of how beautifully-crafted products can transform a space and the people within it.
  • You have at least five years of experience in trade sales, ideally within home decor or the rug industry. Tried and true, you have a proven track record of driving growth and building honest, long-lasting relationships.
  • You believe in the power of empathic customer service, offering experiences that go far beyond the transactional stigmas of the sales trade. You’re passionate about creating environments that foster loyalty and advocacy.
  • You possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • You have a solid understanding of CRM software and sales tools, and how they can support and enhance sales processes.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can make an immediate and significant impact. You believe that rising tides raise all boats.
