The last weeks of summer feel like the season's final alchemical stretch before the cool breeze moves in. In sync with the trees, now's a good time as any to shake the humidity out of your system before leaning toward whatever's next.

Dancer-turned designer, Colin King has a keen eye for arranging things, choreographing interiors with the emotional grace of a corps de ballet. To the tune of summer's curtain call, we could think of no one better to usher us into fall.

With these cravings for dance came a crush on the German choreographer Pina Bausch. A figurehead in the neo-expressionist dance wave — now understood as Tanztheater — Pina's legacy is waist-deep in pink carnations and poetic currencies. She believed that our fragility was also our strength and that to really live you had to find ways to let your heart move you. To that we say, here here, Pina. Here, here.

Catalan painter Joan Miró once said that he tried to apply colors like words that shape poems, like notes that shape music. Our capsule collection of rugs inspired by modern art and Colin King's Shape of Color series do just the same.
